Services

Play Therapy

Play Therapy

Play Therapy is a form of counseling that uses play to communicate and help children prevent and resolve challenges such as: aggression, withdrawal, regression, or other maladaptive coping skills.

Children naturally use play to explore and communicate athe events and challenges in their lives. In play therapy, through child’s interactions and relationships with a trained play therapist, the play becomes intentional and the journey to emotional healing begins.

Parent Coaching

Parent Coaching

Parent coaching is an adjunct service offered alongside individual therapy being offered to the child. Change within the family system takes time and dedication. Coaching will provide parents with a deeper understanding of what the child is processing in the playroom along with psycho education to build new parenting skills.

EMDR

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a type of therapy that allows people to heal from traumatic or overwhelming experiences. EMDR is based on the premise that these experiences become trapped in the brain and stored with the same perceptions that existed at the time of the event, including somatic, emotional and belief patterns. At the heart of EMDR is the understanding that each of us inherently has the ability to heal.

There may be times in life that families require additional help and support. Relationships and connectedness are important to our well-being. Treatment may look different dependent upon the unique needs of your family. Jen Metcalfe offers both Filial Therapy and Parent Child Interaction Therapy.
